Welcome to the Next Level of Your Life
Carlos Bello, MS, LCMHC
Counseling in Raleigh and the Triangle area — and online anywhere in North Carolina
Constant worry, a racing heart, panic that seems to come out of nowhere.
More on my approach →Unwanted, intrusive thoughts — and the urge to perform some kind of compulsive behavior or ritual to make the discomfort go away.
More on my approach →Low mood, pulling away from people and things you used to do, everything feels heavy.
More on my approach →If you're here, you might be feeling overwhelmed — by your thoughts, your emotions, or the circumstances in your life. Maybe you know exactly what you want, but anxiety, self-doubt, or the same old patterns keep pulling you off track. That's where I come in.
Together, we'll slow things down and take an honest look at what's getting in the way — your thoughts, your feelings, your habits, and the pressures around you. From there, you'll learn to make room for the thoughts and feelings you can't switch off, and take practical steps toward the life you want — one that reflects what truly matters to you.
One step at a time, with guidance and support, you'll feel able to move toward the Next Level of your life. I'd love to help you get there!
"Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life."

Carlos Bello, MS, LCMHC
We work on reducing the pull worry and panic have on you, so anxiety stops deciding what you do.
Making room for the discomfort instead of doing what the urges demand, so those thoughts and feelings lose their pull.
Instead of waiting to feel better before you act, we start from what you care about and take small, committed steps in that direction.
Learning to sit with the worries about your health without acting on them — less checking, less searching, and more time and energy for what's important to you.
Making room for the fear of being judged, so you can speak up, connect, and be yourself instead of holding back.
Learning to manage the demands in your life, leaving more time and energy for the things that matter most to you.

- What we can change, we changeWe catch the harsh, unhelpful self-talk and practice a kinder, more accurate version of it — and we get you moving again with small, doable steps, because action usually comes before motivation.
- What sticks around, we make room forSome thoughts and feelings do not leave on command. We get clear on what matters most to you and learn a different way of relating to your difficult thoughts and feelings — with less struggle and more room to act on what you care about.

How it works →Common questions
How much does counseling cost?
That depends on your insurance benefits. If you're using an in-network plan, your cost is set by your plan — usually a copay or a deductible amount — and I'm happy to check your benefits before we begin. If you're paying out of pocket, the rates are on the Insurance & pricing page.
What insurances do you take?
I'm in network with:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- NC State Health Plan
- Cigna
- UnitedHealthcare
If your plan isn't listed, you're still very welcome here! You have the option of paying out of pocket.
Where are you located? Can we meet online?
My office is at 3721 Benson Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609. I also see clients by secure video anywhere in North Carolina, and online sessions are usually covered by insurance just like office visits — so wherever you are in the state, we can work together!
What does therapy with you look like?
Sessions typically last 50 to 60 minutes, in person or by video. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): we get clear on what matters to you, practice handling hard thoughts and feelings differently, and take small, doable steps toward the life you want. It's a practical and collaborative approach to treating anxiety, depression, and other challenging symptoms.
Do you offer counseling in Spanish?
Yes, I do! Sessions are available in English and Spanish, in person or online.
How do I get started?
