Online therapy anywhere in North Carolina
Counseling from wherever you are
Experience the benefits of counseling in the comfort of your home or office. Sessions happen over a secure video call — a private link at your appointment time, on HIPAA-compliant software through SimplePractice.
Online sessions are typically reimbursed by insurance carriers just the same as office visits, and are available to anyone living in North Carolina.
We work on reducing the pull worry and panic have on you, so anxiety stops deciding what you do.
Making room for the discomfort instead of doing what the urges demand, so those thoughts and feelings lose their pull.
Instead of waiting to feel better before you act, we start from what you care about and take small, committed steps in that direction.
Learning to sit with the worries about your health without acting on them — less checking, less searching, and more time and energy for what's important to you.
Making room for the fear of being judged, so you can speak up, connect, and be yourself instead of holding back.
Learning to manage the demands in your life, leaving more time and energy for the things that matter most to you.

Online counseling: common questions
How do online sessions work?
It's simple: you get a private link for your appointment time and we meet over a secure video call on HIPAA-compliant software through SimplePractice. There's no special software to figure out — a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera is all you need!
Does insurance cover online counseling?
In most cases, yes. Online sessions are typically reimbursed by insurance carriers just the same as office visits, and I'm happy to check your plan's benefits before we begin.
Do I have to live in North Carolina to meet with you online?
Yes. Because I'm licensed in North Carolina, you need to be physically in the state at the time of each session. Anywhere in North Carolina works!
Does online counseling work as well as in person?
Yes. The research on video sessions is good, and for OCD, practicing exposures at home — where the triggers actually are — can be an advantage. All you need is a private spot.
How much does counseling cost?
That depends on your insurance benefits. If you're using an in-network plan, your cost is set by your plan — usually a copay or a deductible amount — and I'm happy to check your benefits before we begin. If you're paying out of pocket, the rates are on the Insurance & pricing page.
How do I get started?
Easy! Send the short contact form, call (919) 275-0727, or email carlos@nextlevelcounseling.net. We'll start with a free 15-minute intro call to get to know each other and see whether it feels like a good fit.
